Realtek Drivers — Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Audio Driver Guide

Realtek supplies components used in many computers and accessories. The chip maker's name does not identify the complete product or its custom audio and network configuration. Begin with the PC, motherboard or adapter that contains the device.

Separate wireless, wired networking and audio

Open Device Manager and inspect Network adapters for Wi-Fi or Ethernet, or Sound, video and game controllers for audio. A Network Controller with no driver needs identification; a working Ethernet adapter with an unplugged cable needs a connection check. Do not use one package across these categories.

Read Device status and note the error code. For a generic name, use Properties, Details, Hardware Ids. Then identify the PC, motherboard or external USB adapter model. A dock's Realtek controller can need the dock maker's package rather than the laptop's built-in network driver.

Check the output before replacing an audio package

In Windows sound settings, confirm the selected playback device and volume. Sound sent to a monitor over HDMI may use the graphics device's audio driver, not the motherboard's Realtek audio device. Missing sound therefore does not by itself identify which package is needed.

Start with the PC or motherboard maker's audio package and installation instructions. It may include product-specific configuration or companion software. Do not mix components from unrelated packages to obtain a control panel, and do not assume a generic codec name establishes compatibility.

Recover networking with the exact product package

If the affected PC is offline, use another connected computer to visit its maker's official support and obtain the matching wireless or LAN package. For a separately purchased adapter, consult that adapter maker. Transfer the official file by USB and keep it available until the connection works.

Check Windows version and system type before choosing x64 or ARM64. Driver support must be explicit; application emulation is not a substitute. Realtek's official site describes its component families, but a similarly named third-party download site is not an official source or proof of a supported package.

Use supported sources and test the feature

Windows Update is another official option when connectivity is available. Read package instructions, restart when requested and check the actual sound or network connection afterward. If Windows reports a working device and the symptom persists, return to settings, cables and the manufacturer's troubleshooting rather than cycling through driver bundles.

DrvBeacon can report detected devices and driver state. In the Manual Driver Finder, select the PC manufacturer for OEM support; it does not currently offer a dedicated Realtek provider or promise a generic direct download. Use Hardware IDs as local identification evidence, not information to submit to analytics or random driver websites.

Choose your next step

Use the evidence you collected. The Manual Driver Finder works for another PC without a scan. A scan of this PC requires the local Windows scanner; check scanner availability and setup first. DrvBeacon reads information and never installs a driver automatically.
