Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 Driver for Windows
AX201 is an Intel wireless adapter used in supported PC platforms. A missing Wi-Fi switch, an unknown network controller after reinstalling Windows, and a working adapter with connection failures are different problems. Identify the adapter before choosing software: a disconnected router or a disabled radio does not prove that a driver is missing. This page gives you the checks needed to make that distinction without scanning or signing in.

Compatibility confidence: Not verified
Exact driver could not be verified automatically. DrvBeacon will not guess a driver when compatibility cannot be verified. Select your exact model and Windows version in the official support system. Compatibility has not been established.
Open Official Intel Support (opens the official website in a new tab)Identify the device in Device Manager
- Look under Network adapters in Device Manager. If AX201 is absent, inspect the unknown Network Controller and its Hardware Ids instead.
- Compare VEN_8086 and DEV_A0F0 only as one identity example. Other platform variants need their own exact identification; do not reject or install solely on this example.
- Record the PC's exact model, Windows build and architecture. Keep the subsystem ID as OEM context rather than deleting it from the comparison.
Hardware ID examples
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0F0
One known AX201 PCI identity, not a complete list of platform variants. Compare the full ID and subsystem with your PC documentation.
These public vendor/device values help identify a device family. Do not discard subsystem information when checking OEM compatibility, and do not share raw device-instance paths or private scan credentials.
Windows and architecture requirements
Intel's wireless driver resource lists AX201 for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11. Check its current supported-adapter list and package notes for your Windows build.
The cited Windows wireless resource is for 64-bit systems. It does not establish an ARM64 package for this adapter; never substitute an x64 driver on ARM64.
This is guidance about official resources, not verification of a particular file, release date or driver version. Check the current package notes and your PC model before any manual installation.
OEM and subsystem considerations
On a laptop, start with its exact-model OEM page. Wireless packages can include platform-specific configuration or companion components. AX201 and similarly named AX210 are not proof of interchangeable platform support: check the system maker's hardware specifications before replacing a module or selecting a package.
Troubleshoot before changing software
If Device Manager reports Code 28, look for the OEM network package or a genuinely applicable Windows Update driver. If the adapter is installed without an error, check airplane mode, radio settings, router reachability and another network first. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are separate device entries; resolving one does not establish that the other has the correct driver.
A Device Manager error code, the installed driver provider and the affected feature are better evidence than age alone. Avoid random driver sites, unofficial mirrors and driver-pack aggregators. Do not disable Windows security to run a downloaded file.
When Windows Update is appropriate
Windows Update can offer a compatible driver based on the actual PC. In Windows 11, inspect Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates. In Windows 10, optional driver updates appear under Windows Update when available. An entry must actually be applicable; this public page cannot check your PC or claim that an update is available.
DrvBeacon?s optional scanner checks the configured Windows Update source and only recommends a Windows Update action when device matching and applicability are confirmed. An offline, incomplete or policy-restricted check leaves availability unknown. No driver is installed automatically.
