NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Driver for Windows

GeForce RTX 4060 identifies a graphics product, not a single universal installer. Desktop RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 Laptop GPU choices need to be kept distinct. A PC may also contain integrated graphics, so more than one display adapter can be normal. The safe goal is to identify which GPU serves the affected display or application before selecting an official package.

Compatibility confidence: Not verified

Exact driver could not be verified automatically. DrvBeacon will not guess a driver when compatibility cannot be verified. Select your exact model and Windows version in the official support system. Compatibility has not been established.

Identify the device in Device Manager

  1. Open Display adapters in Device Manager. If Windows shows Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, use Hardware Ids and system specifications to identify the GPU.
  2. Confirm whether the system uses a desktop card or a laptop GPU. Do not select Ti or notebook software merely because part of the product name matches.
  3. At NVIDIA support, review Windows, architecture, supported products and the intended Game Ready or Studio usage before choosing a package.

Known desktop RTX 4060 identities. RTX 4060 Laptop GPU and RTX 4060 Ti have separate identities and must not be assumed equivalent.

These public vendor/device values help identify a device family. Do not discard subsystem information when checking OEM compatibility, and do not share raw device-instance paths or private scan credentials.

Windows and architecture requirements

NVIDIA's official driver resources list RTX 4060 with Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 options. Read the current selected driver's supported-products list and release notes.

Match the official package architecture; x64 support does not imply ARM64 support. This page certifies no individual driver file.

This is guidance about official resources, not verification of a particular file, release date or driver version. Check the current package notes and your PC model before any manual installation.

OEM and subsystem considerations

On a laptop or hybrid-graphics system, consult the exact-model OEM page for validated graphics and platform components. For a desktop add-in card, the board partner may provide device-specific support while NVIDIA supplies graphics drivers. Display firmware, overclocking utilities and BIOS files are separate actions and are not recommended by this page.

Troubleshoot before changing software

If the adapter is detected but an application runs on the wrong GPU, review Windows graphics settings before assuming a missing driver. For black screens or output faults, compare the physical display connection and Device Manager error code. DrvBeacon does not recommend driver-cleaner tools or disabling security protections; retain a recovery path before any later manual change.

A Device Manager error code, the installed driver provider and the affected feature are better evidence than age alone. Avoid random driver sites, unofficial mirrors and driver-pack aggregators. Do not disable Windows security to run a downloaded file.

When Windows Update is appropriate

Windows Update can offer a compatible driver based on the actual PC. In Windows 11, inspect Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates. In Windows 10, optional driver updates appear under Windows Update when available. An entry must actually be applicable; this public page cannot check your PC or claim that an update is available.

DrvBeacon?s optional scanner checks the configured Windows Update source and only recommends a Windows Update action when device matching and applicability are confirmed. An offline, incomplete or policy-restricted check leaves availability unknown. No driver is installed automatically.
